Walk Programme 2009
Conditions of Participation
Payments.
Booking fee £4 per person per walk or event (unless otherwise stated) to be paid at the time of booking. For walks involving a bus an additional fee is also payable at the time of booking. Fee includes entry into the Grand Prize Draw. Please give payments for car parks to the walk leader at the start of the walk.
Members of the Brecon Beacons Park Society walk for free on walks marked with the Society logo.
Clothing.
You will be expected to ensure that you are properly equipped for the grade and length of walk. For walks graded 2, 3 and 4 a waterproof jacket and trousers, walking boots, warm clothes, spare warm layer, gloves, hat, and a rucksack are essential at this time of year. Jeans are not permitted on hill walks.
Bring your own food and drink.
Ensure that you have an adequate supply of water and a hot drink if you wish. Ensure that you bring sufficient food for the length of walk – there are no cafes on the hills! Short walks generally finish before lunch or start after lunch, so you may only need to bring a snack and water. Check the times of the walk you are booked on. Meal breaks will be taken at a suitable point in the walk at the discretion of the Walk Leader.
Follow the instructions of the Walk Leader.
Walk Leaders may refuse to take people who are not properly equipped or prepared. Walk Leaders will decide on whether a walk can proceed or be curtailed in the event of adverse weather. Note many of the walks may have stiles.
Children
under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (except the RAF Adventure Day).
Dogs
may be brought on most walks, but please ensure that you have a lead for them and that you follow the requirements of the Countryside Rights of Way Act.
No liability will be accepted for loss or injury that occurs as a result of taking part in any Walk or Event.
