An interesting walk through the Graig wood to look at the ruins of a village that was lost for more than 150 years, then up onto the summit of Sugar Loaf for views of the Black Mts and Central Beacons. 2000ft ascent.

To car park, take Llanbedr Rd out of Crickhowell, up valley for 4 miles. Right at no through road sign.
A short road walk to start and then diagonally up to Table Mt, turning north for a steep climb up Pen Carreg Calch, but then fairly level to Pen Allt Mawr. Descend down Cwm Banw.

The Chartist Cave

The car park is on B4560 south of Llangynidr. A walk on the undulating path across the limestone moor of Llangynidr Mt to the well-hidden Chartists’ Cave, reputed to have been the meeting-place of the local Chartists in the 1830s. Great views across to the Black Mountains.

To car park take Llanbedr Rd out of Crickhowell, up valley for about 4 miles.
A walk to illustrate aspects of the archaeology including prehistoric, medieval & later sites in this secluded valley. Some rough walking & steep sections which will be taken slowly. The ascent is up the east side of Cwm Banw, descending by the western side.
