We've had lots of useful comments - here's a selection - (good and bad!) :-

  • Its great; every year there is something new, so it does not become fixed menu! Congratulations.
  • My first walk with the Festival and I was impressed with the whole thing.
  • Excellently organised as always.
  • It would also be helpful to be informed of the nature of the refreshments. I specifically asked at the CRIC about this and was told that this would not be lunch. I and others brought a lunch with us. The refreshments were soup, with rolls, cakes and tea which were very enjoyable and quite sufficient for lunch.
  • It is very varied, very professionally organised, seems to have an ethos conveyed by the walk leaders and is great in furthering the understanding of this wonderful area through walking and lecturing - educational but in a good sense.
  • The web site was very clear and easy to get around.
  • We were 4 ladies that walked on Wednesday, walk 51 Usk Valley, we all enjoyed our first time with Crickhowell festival and will hope to come again next year, our walk was informative and well organized.
  • The festival is GREAT, i want to thank David and all the staff, and walk leaders for their help and coordination and organisation. This is my third or fourth festival, and enjoyed the walks. Thank you.
  • Well organised great atmosphere
  • Excellent.
  • Well organised.
  • Delightful people associated with festival from people at the information office to walk leaders.
  • Thank you.
  • Excellent- you are to be congratulated. Sending out the Programme Book early is a good idea, in that it spurred me to look at the Web site and to book walks and evening events. The web site is excellent- very user friendly - it was done in a trice! I enjoyed each walk and each event thoroughly. They were well led - safely, considerately, with humour and with historical/topographical explanations as we went along. The back markers were of course just as competent as the leaders.
  • Of note: I'm told the SHAFF film festival ( Thurs) (which I could not attend)was excellent. Perhaps the Programme book could have pointed out the similar and excellent Banff Mountain Film night (Wednesday)at the Brecon theatre. Some walkers might have chosen to go to both.
  • Great Festival. Would have done more but time constraints didn't allow this year. Nothing to improve as far as I'm concerned.
  • If every walk leader and second was the quality of the best it would be outstanding rather than merely excellent. I had a wonderful week and will come annually if possible. Sorry that this year, we can no longer hand back walks in advance, for others to use that we no longer require. Especially as many were over subscribed. (Husband cancelled one and I cancelled one). This is not about money back but allowing opportunities to be used.
  • As I only went on one walk and attended one event I cannot give you an overall impression . However I read the catalogue that you had published for the festival and I thought it was a very comprehensive programme
  • An excellent festival - can't think how it could be improved
  • The walks were excellent, leaders were very informative, the pace was suitable for the group.
  • The web site was very good, clear information about the walk and where to park.
  • Disappointed we were not able to book onto more walks, the walks booked up very quickly, we must be quicker with our booking next year. Many thanks to your team.
  • This was my second festival and it has already become an event I look forward to attending. I hope it will continue being as well run as it has been so far.
  • Very well organised with enthusiastic leaders
  • The walks very enjoyable weather not the best on one of the walks.
  • Would be preferable to walk in warmer weather. We did meet a lot of friendly walkers a lot not from Wales which shows the festival is very popular .
  • Well organised and with an excellent range of walks and events.
  • I did not stay overnight but had to answer that question as there was no provision for not staying.I cannot remember the name of the cafe iused for lunch on the Saturday i attended the events 19 & 21f
  • An excellent and well-organised event.
  • Very good. Friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Many different choices of walks for all levels of walkers. Something for everyone. We should have done 5 walks but illness prevented us from doing all of the walks. A thoroughly enjoyable week.
  • Very well organised, excellent website & booking.
  • Hope to attend some events next year as well as walking.
  • Thanks to all the volunteers for all their effort & hard work - it's really appreciated.
  • Walking festival is brilliant. Well organised, we'll run and nice people. Well done.
  • Having been a resident for nearly 40 years I am very disappointed by the attitude of the local businesses. There is a perception that the local businesses are only interested in what it can bring them and not the bigger picture which in some cases is shameful.  This was picked up by a number of walkers as well as myself and I overheard a number of comments throughout the week. It is the walking festival that attracts the extra visitors to Crickhowell in February and March not local businesses. It's time for them to get on board. Come in to the Cric centre in the morning, put on some welsh cakes or bacon rolls for the walkers. It would cost them peanuts and do so much good. I thought this was supposed to be a community. They should act like it
  • Walking festival is brilliant. Well organised, we'll run and nice people. Well done.
  • Very good programme of walks. Detailed brochure easy to book online.
  • Very well organised.
  • Really enjoyed it. It was our first time, and we didn't realise the walks would be sold out, so we weren't spoilt for choice, but we thoroughly enjoyed our day at the festival, and we'll definitely be back next year.
  • We absolutely love the CWF - it is a great start to our year and we look forward to it from Dec onwards. One very minor point [and it is probably our fault], there were some events we should have liked to attend but we didn't book them as we were walking 'long days' and realised that we wouldn't have enough time when we got back. We will try harder next year! Many thanks again.
  • I booked in for three walks but did not turn up for any of them because of the weather. I think the festival should be held at a better time of year.
  • The Festival was excellent; the walk leaders kept us safe despite the harsh weather conditions. The walk leaders were all very knowledgeable in mountain safety and navigation. They also knew about the histories of the areas we were walking in. All the volunteers at the Cric were very friendly and helpful.
  • Excellent. Next year I will attend some of the events!
  • My friends and I travelled on both occasions to the walks. I'm a returning walker having enjoyed previous festivals. Both guests who joined me were thoroughly impressed with the whole organisation and I anticipate will return next year.
  • One slight 'hiccup' on the first Saturday 27th, being the Public Toilets next to the Cric shop were closed on arrival around 9.0am
  • It was brilliant and we can't wait for next year!!
  • Excellent festival, well organised and with a wide range of walks and events. Would increasing the number and range of evening events persuade visitors to stay for longer, thus putting more money into the local economy?
  • Festival was great. The more strenuous walks the better, please! Also, the biggest omission this year was the ViewRanger links to all the walk routes. That used to be invaluable in helping choose which walks to do. Without them, it's sometimes quite hard from the description to see where the walks are routed. Please can we have them back next year? Thanks!
  • As I have been coming to the festival for 4 years now, each year I have introduced new friends who equally agree with me, that the cric team work very hard in organising a Fantastic walk festival, great variety of walks and events. Well done to all.
  • Always enjoyable. Thank-you.
  • I was disappointed there were not many walks in the West this year.
  • Is there any way that people who are not going to come can cancel their place & someone else could take it? There are always "no shows" and other people who have tried to book but places are not available?
  • Looking forward to 2017!
  • Very well organised and promoted.
  • Confidence of all walk leaders and helpers was evident all week.
  • Do more of the same.
  • I think it may in danger of becoming a victim of its own success if it grows too much too quickly.
  • It might be an idea to consider another festival in the autumn - links with Brecon Beacons Parks Society might be further developed for this?
  • This year was my third visit to the festival in the last four years. You have set the bar very high for which the CWF team are to be congratulated. The range of walks and events are very good. More of the same please.
  • Excellent, so many walks to choose from. Well organised, first year i have been but will definitely be walking next year. Pity i had to work or i would of been walking every day. Thank you to all who worked so hard to make CWF possible..
  • Think it's a wonderful festival in a beautiful part of Wales
  • Very enjoyable.
  • Thank you
  • More musical events, particularly choral
  • I love the festival and have been involved for several years. I would love to have a storytelling evening, with perhaps 2 or 3 storytellers telling the stories where the walks went, with time for walkers to tell their own local tales. I learnt that Skirrid mountain is called 'Holy mountain" because there was a landslide at the time of Jesus's crucifixion; so the mountain has that stepped shape. Well, my storyteller told me, Abergavenny was very Catholic! The most famous concerning the walks is perhaps "Meddyg Myddfai" or 'The lady of the lake', connected with Llyn Fan y Fach, in the West. It is a beautiful story which can be told many times, as there are always visitors who don't know it. There are many more: the sleeping King Arthur, the warrior princess Gwenllyan, Pwyll and Rhiannon.
