Our Terms and Conditions

We try to keep these as simple as we can, but please take note of them when booking and before you walk.

Please read carefully the description of each grade of walk to ensure you are fit enough. Click here to see our Grading Guide.

Participating in Walks

  • As most of our walks take place on open mountain and moorland, appropriate clothing is required at all times. This includes:-
    • Walking Boots (not trainers)
    • Rucksack
    • Hat
    • Gloves
    • Warm clothing
    • Spare warm clothing eg a jacket or fleece
    • Waterproof jacket and trousers

Note: Jeans are NOT acceptable, as they act as a refrigerator when wet and can cause hypothermia.

  • You should also carefully check the duration of the walk and ensure that you have food and drink (preferably a hot drink) appropriate for the length of the walk. Stops at pubs/cafe etc are not included.
  • The start time given is that at which the walk will start. Please ensure you have left enough time to get to the start point and changed into walking gear.
  • Dogs are allowed on most walks, unless there is a statement saying they are not. Dogs must be under control and on a lead at all times.
  • Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Most of our walks are on unmade paths and therefore are unsuitable for wheelchairs. Where we believe a walk to be wheelchair friendly we will state it in the description.
  • Walk Leaders have the right to reject any person they believe to be inadequately prepared for the walk.
  • Walk Leaders are responsible for the safety of the group and their instructions must be followed.
  • Please inform the Walk Leader if you have any pre-existing medical condition of which he/she should be aware and for which you may be carrying medication (eg diabetes).
  • Please keep with the group. If you wish to leave the group please inform the Walk Leader who will make it clear that you are responsible for your own safety from that point.
  • Note timings and the route taken may vary, depending on weather or other conditions and the overall speed of the group.
