CWF 2026

It may seem BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS given post-Christmas weather, but having pre-walked a number of walks in the area, low and high, underfoot conditions are currently quite challenging. Robust, waterproof boots are essential on most walks and even if you don’t usually carry or use poles, they could be very handy this year. The potential for skating on waterlogged slopes is high.

Notification of road closure - Llanthony Valley

There has been a significant landslip just north of Cwmyoy village and the valley road is closed.  The two walks starting in the valley (walks 13 and 77) will now start from Llanthony Wood car park at Stanton – participants have been informed.  Access is only via Llanvihangel Crucorney.

Any vehicular access to Llanthony Priory and Capel-y -ffin is only via Hay on Wye and the Gospel Pass.  This will be the situation for some time, certainly for the duration of CWF 2026.
