Starting from the centre of Llanfrynach village we walk through the village on a quiet road and take an ascending path to Gist Wen. We continue our gradual ascent south westwards and contour round the magnificent rocky rim above Cwm Oergwm to Fan y Big with its cantilevered rock diving board. Then our descent takes us down Cefn Cyff, sometimes boggy and steep at the bottom of the ridge. We follow the Three Rivers Ride across fields back to Llanfrynach.
DIRECTIONS TO START
Allow 30 minutes from CRiC. Take the A40 towards Brecon. When you get to the dual carriageway, take the first turning left onto B4558, signposted Llanfrynach. At the T junction turn right and after 3/4 mile, fork right into Llanfrynach village. Park by the church and public toilets.
