From Llanbedr we cross the Grwyne Fechan river and head east along an old farm road in the Grwyne Fawr valley, with Sugar Loaf and Crug Mawr above us. After 1.5 miles, we turn north into the delightful hidden cwm, Cwm Beusych, ascending through a wood and then up fields to the mountain wall. We continue, quite steeply and then more gently to reach Crug Mawr, the first ‘nail' in the Llanbedr Horseshoe. Then back along the Beacons Way with panoramic views of the Horseshoe before descending to Upper Cwm Bridge and back into Llanbedr village.
DIRECTIONS TO START
From CRiC take the A40 towards Brecon. Just after the Shell petrol station turn right up Llanbedr Road. Keep on at the top of the hill and turn right after about 1 mile into the village of Llanbedr. The hall is on your right part way through the village.
There is a charge of £3/car to be paid in cash (only) by putting it in the honesty box (location to be confirmed). Please bring the correct change.
