This walk along part of the Llangattock escarpment will study the natural history, geology and extant remains of 19th century limestone quarrying. This fascinating and dramatic escarpment includes the botanically important Craig y Cilau Nature Reserve, extensive cave systems and human settlements. The walk is lead by geologist Dilys Harlow, author of Land of the Beacons Way, and will be conducted at a gentle pace.
DIRECTIONS TO START
Allow 15 minutes. From CRiC head towards Brecon and turn left opposite the Asda Garage down to cross the bridge. Tuen left and then immediately right and travel through Llangatock. After half a mile, before the Bethesda Chapel, fork right towards Beaufort. Follow he road for another half mile until you cross a cattle grid and park on the right.
