A walk through the undulating hills of The Begwns, a National Trust owned and managed upland area with protected small lakes and ponds, offering stunning views of The Black Mountains, The Western Beacons and the River Wye Valley. Starting on the east side we climb steadily through this open and well drained moorland, including a break at The Roundabout summit and trig point. The western part of the walk also takes in delightful old bridle ways with additional views.




DIRECTIONS TO START

Allow 35 minutes. From the front of CRiC take the A40 towards Brecon. Turn right on A479 and continue to Talgarth. Turn right on A4078 and continue to A438. Turn right  and  turn left on A438 at Glasbury.  At Clyro turn left into village and continue north west towards Painscastle. After 4km/2.5miles park on the right after the second cattle grid next to a farm track off to the right.
